With deepest sorrow, we at Henryhand Funeral Home, regret to announce the passing of Mr. James Lamont Thomas, 48, of Myrtle Beach, SC, who passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 in Georgetown, SC.

Life Reflections

James Lamont Thomas was born on February 20, 1974, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. He was preceded into death by his mother, the late Linda "Peas" Thomas, one sister, Ardneast Scott, one brother, Jessie James McClary, Jr., and grandparents, the late Juanita Thomas, Robert Thomas, Sr. and Ardell McFadden.

James affectionately known as "Cojac," entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2022, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Georgetown, South Carolina.

James was educated in the  Public Schools of Williamsburg County. James was very soft spoken. He loved the South Carolina Gamecocks. James was employed by Anderson Properties for many years as a kitchen supervisor, until his health declined.

James leaves to cherish his memories: his father, Jessie J. McClary; two sons, Jaquan Thomas of Kingstree, SC and Devon Thomas of Florida; a special aunt, whom he took as his mother, Burnetta Zaiter (Arthur) of Andrews, SC; sisters and brothers, Carolyn Mobley of Florence, SC, Rebecca McClary (Jaquan) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Shirleen (Elder Dannie) McCrea of Columbia, SC, Jessica Cooks of Salters, SC, Terry McClary (Frances) of Andrews, SC and Leon Thomas of Kingstree, SC; aunts, Linda Dukes (James) of Kingstree, SC and Shirley Ann Griffin of Kingstree, SC; uncles, Mark Thompson, James R. Thomas and Robert Thomas, Jr. all of Andrews, SC, Marven McFadden, Jr. and Stoney McClary (Carolyn) both of Kingstree, SC; a special cousin, Juanita McClary (George) of Andrews, SC; a special friend, Manuel Sanchez of Conway, SC; a host of nieces, nephews and many other loved ones.

A special thanks to those helping to care for James L. Thomas during his time of illness. His aunt, Burnetta Zaiter (Arthur) was by his side 24/7, his sister, Carolyn Mobley, that made sure he was given the best care and made sure he didn't want for anything. Two uncles, James R. Thomas and Robert Thomas was his night shift nurses that took very good care of him.
