St. Stephen
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Willie Dean Region, 90, formerly of St. Stephen, SC, who passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Life Reflections
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23
Willie Dean Region transitioned on December 15th, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She was a beloved grandmother, mother, and cherished family member whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone who knew her.
Born on August 18, 1935 in Pineville, SC, "Dean", as she was affectionally called, was the daughter of the late Daniel and Phoebe Gadsden. She lived a life centered on family. She believed in God and carried her faith in a quiet, meaningful way. She loved listening to gospel music, which filled her home with hope and happiness, reflecting the joy she carried in her heart.
Dean was known for her loving spirit, gentle wisdom, and the care she gave so freely. Her home was a place of laughter, comfort, and treasured memories. The love she shared and the lessons she passed on will continue to live on through her family and all who were fortunate to know her.
She is survived by her loving family: one daughter, Catherine (James) Smith of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Shenna Smith, Benjamin Smith, and Shenilla Smith, all of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Jeannette Brown of St. Stephen, SC; one brother, Marshall Gadsden of Atlanta, GA; godchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
We rejoice knowing Willie Dean is at peace, her spirit is full of joy, and her love living on in the hearts of all who loved her.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen, SC. 843-354-2292.
