Life Reflections

Velma Singletary was born on Wednesday, March 15, 1944, to the late Hezekiah and Lillie Mae Singletary. On Saturday, January 18, 2025, God called our angel home. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Hezekiah and Lillie Singletary and two children, Harvey Singletary and Thomas Singletary.

Velma was born in Timmonsville, South Carolina, where she resided until she later moved to Brooklyn, New York. Velma was a hardworking mother, that took pride in taking care of her children. Velma worked at Eagle Electric Company until she retired.

Velma leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Arrin Singletary of Florence, SC; three daughters, Crystal Singletary of Manhattan, NY, Tawana Singletary of Queens, NY and Harriet Singletary of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Hattie Bacote of Brooklyn, NY and Audrey Singletary of Timmonsville, SC; four grandchildren, Jajuan Dawkins of Brooklyn NY, Urias Jones of Brooklyn, NY, Raven Slaughter and Ryen Slaughter both of Manhattan, NY; four great grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
