Life Reflections

Timothy Leroy Young, Jr., son of Timothy L. Young, Sr. and Shanta Smalls, was born on October 22, 1997 in Georgetown County, South Carolina. He peacefully departed this life at Grand Strand Medical Center on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

He was a member of the Church of God and True Holiness. He attended the public schools of Georgetown County and received his diploma from Carvers Bay High School. He worked various types of jobs. His most recent job was with Habitat for Humanity as a warehouse associate, where he helped prepare and deliver donated items to those in need.

Timothy, Jr., "TJ", was a man with a heart of gold – genuine, generous and full of life. He would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought, simply because that's who he was. His kindness knew no limits, and his love for those around him was deep and unconditional. He never held back his affection, if he loved you, you knew it. He made sure to say, "I love you," often and sincerely. More than anything, he was the life of the party. With his laughter, quick wit, and unforgettable presence, he had a way of lighting up every room he entered. His energy was infectious, his spirit unforgettable. To know him was to be lifted by him. His legacy of love, laughter, and selfless generosity will live on in every heart he touched.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving parents, Timothy and Shanta Young; two brothers, Shaquille Aiken of Hemingway, SC and Tevin Young of Huntsville, AL; two sisters, Shantel Young of Georgetown, SC and Tiera Young of Fort Stewart, GA; grandmothers, Ethel Young of Georgetown, SC and Doretha Smalls of Nesmith, SC; one nephew, A'mir Coleman of Georgetown, SC; eight uncles, John, Jr. (Carla) Young, Ricky (Larina) Young, Marvin (Dezariea) Young all of Hemingway, SC; Tramain (Denise) Young of Fayetteville, NC, Stephen (Anita) Young of Georgetown, SC, Erick (Nicole) Young of Fayetteville, NC, Derek (Lashonda) Young of Monroe, NC and Craig (Tonya) Smalls of Florence, SC; three aunts, Charline (Shannon) Woodberry of Johnsonville, SC, Cynthia (Renee) Washington of Georgetown, SC and Equanda (Esaw) Rouse of Hemingway, SC; godmother, Vera (Dwayne) Scudder of Columbia, SC; his special friend, Tyrianna "TaTa" Alston of Longs, SC; best friend and "brother", Harry, Jr. "TJ" Lewis of Hemingway, SC; and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
