Hemingway
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Thomas Doiley, Sr., 63 of Hemingway, SC, who passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Life Reflections
Thomas Leroy Doiley, Sr., was born on March 2, 1963 in Georgetown, South Carolina, to the late James Andrew Lee Doiley and the late Mary Shubrick. He departed his earthly life on June 24, 2026. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, James Earl Doiley and his son, Kevin Joshua Coakley.
He was educated in the public schools of Georgetown County. He became a truck driver right out of high school and drove until his health began to fail him. Thomas was passionate about trucking and life and loved all of his family and friends.
He married the love of his life, Helen German Coakley on November 14, 1977. Together they continued raising their children as a combined family.
Thomas gave his life to the Lord at an early age and had an opportunity to rededicate his life to the Lord during his recent illness in the hospital at MUSC-Florence. Even though the spiritual fight was hard, he is now in the hands of the Lord.
Thomas leaves to cherish his loving and lasting memories: his loving wife, Elder Helen G. Doiley of Hemingway, SC; two sons, Thomas Leroy Doiley Jr. of Wilmington, NC and Raynard (Wanda) Coakley of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Gwenith Marie Coakley of Mt. Pleasant, SC and LaKasha Denise Coakley of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Carrie Doiley and Cynthia Doiley, both of Corpus Christie, TX; two brothers, Leon Doiley, Sr (Jean) of Fort Mill, SC and Willie Doiley, Sr. of Georgetown, SC; twenty-two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Florence Doiley of Mt. Charleston, SC, Terressa (Irvin Keith) of Plattsburg, NY, Amy German of Goose Creek, SC, Judy Doiley and Consuelo Doiley both of Georgetown, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
