Life Reflections

Susie Mae (Susta) McFadden, 95, daughter of the late Bessie Burgess McFadden and Absolum McFadden Sr. was born on October 24, 1928 in the New Zion section of Clarendon County, South Carolina.

In her early years, she accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined the Melina Presbyterian Church.

She received her formal education at the Melina Parochial School.

Susie was employed as a housekeeper for many years and enjoyed working in her garden and flower bed.

Susie was a loving and caring person who loved her family. She was humble and reserved, but feisty when needed! She never met a stranger. If she could do anything to help you, she was always willing.

On Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, "Susta" answered the call to join her savior in that home not built with hands, but whose maker and builder is God.

Susie was preceded in death by: her parents, two children, four brothers, Luther McFadden, Absolum McFadden Jr, Paul Weary McFadden Sr., and Rudolph McFadden; two sisters, Janie Mason and Mary R. Cooper and one granddaughter, Connie Webb.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: four daughters, Bessie Mae (Micheal) Pringle of New Zion, SC, Jannie R. McFaddin of Turbeville, SC, Mildred P. Pringle of Sumter, SC, and Leatha McFadden of the home; four sons, Joseph McFadden, Bobbie (Tanya) McFadden both of Alcolu, SC,  Ervin (Katherine) McFadden of Manning, SC and Vernal F. McFadden of the home; one sister, Ruth Singleton of Manning, SC; one sister-in-law, Ruth McFadden of New Zion, SC; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, and thirteen great-great children; long with host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends and family at 1147 Sleepy Hollow Drive, Alcolu, SC.
