Life Reflections

Mark 11:22-24 "And Jesus answered them. "Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this amount, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea.' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Shirretta Katrina Shaw Bennett was born April 15, 1975 in New Haven, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Leroy and Romonia V. McFadden Shaw and the stepdaughter of Clarence McKenzie.

"Trina," as she was affectionately known, received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County, South Carolina. She furthered her education at Job Corps in Bamberg, South Carolina and in 2006, she enrolled at First Step Medical in Kingstree, South Carolina, where she obtained her travel certification in Nursing.

Her employment was about caring of people and she took the job seriously. She enjoyed traveling to different states taking care of the elderly and sick. Katrina was a caregiver, personal attendant and a protector of those she served. They made a difference in her life also. Her compassion, empathy and reliability helped her help others.

"Trina" was joined in Holy Matrimony to James Bennett for eleven years.

"Trina" was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, always optimistic and resourceful when it came to taking care of her children. She was fun loving and enjoyed making people smile. She had a great love for everyone and because of her energetic spirit, she never met a stranger.

On Monday morning, May 19, 2025, God called our beloved Shirretta Katrina Shaw Bennett home to rest. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Leroy and Romona Shaw; brother, Alphonza Shaw; grandmother, Lettious McFadden and aunt, Maggie Bell Pressley.
