With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Shirley A. Wilson, 81, of Georgetown, SC, wife of Thomas Wilson, who passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Life Reflections

Mrs. Shirley Ann Wilson was born on November 5, 1942 in Georgetown County, South Carolina to Earthaleen Darby Funnye and John Funnye.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Thomas, William and John Funnye; two sisters, Mary F. Frasier and Lillie Mae Grate.

From 1962 until her passing, she abided in Holy Matrimony with her devoted husband Mr. Thomas Wilson. This union was blessed with seven children.

Mrs. Shirley A. Wilson received her education in the public schools of Georgetown County and became a wife and mother, and raised her children.

Mrs. Shirley A. Wilson attended St. Paul A. M. E. Church in the Sampit Community. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. On April 13, 2024, she reaffirmed her faith at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

She leaves the following to cherish her loving memories: her beloved and devoted husband, Mr. Thomas Wilson; three sons, Thomas Wilson (Ann) of Columbus, GA, Dennis Wilson (Lucinder), Jackie Wilson (Pamela); four daughters, Sandra McBride, Christene Ward (Darrell) of Newberns, NC, Keren Keith (Heyward) and Cyrl Lance (Walter); one granddaughter she reared as her own, Susananna Wilson; twenty-seven grandchildren, sixty-one plus great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Woodard of Georgetown, SC and Betty Dowdy (Jessie) of Connecticut; four sisters-in-law, Imma Jean Getty, Gertrude Grimmage, Gardenia Trappier (Chappel) and Rachel Funnye; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends and family at her late residence 878 Knowlin Road, Georgetown, SC
