With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Shirley M. Pressley, 70, of Nesmith, SC, who passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025.

A Life Remembered

Mrs. Shirley M. Pressley departed from this world on Monday, December 22, 2025, in her home in Nesmith, South Carolina. Born February 20, 1955, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, she was the oldest child born to the late James L. and Rosa Bell Nesmith.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County and Santa Monica, California.

Throughout her life, Shirley was a kind and loving individual known in the community for her independence and strong spirit.  Also known as a hard worker, she worked diligently for many years at Onita Mills and ended her career at Baxter Laboratories, where she was heralded as one of their most productive and efficient employees.

Shirley was baptized into the Church of Christ at an early age and was a fervent believer that God was always with her and knew her heart.

In 1980, she married the love of her life, Levi "Vi" Pressley.  Together, they shared many years of love and cherished memories until Levi's untimely death in February 2006.  Shirley was also a loving and devoted mother to her son, Marvell, and daughter, Tamika.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia A. Bryant.

Cherishing her wonderful memory now and always are: her two children, Marvell Nesmith and Tamika M. (Samuel) Graham; three grandchildren, Rico (Courtney) Nesmith, Justin Broughton, and Samiah Harvey; five surviving siblings, Carlether Nesmith, Leslie Nesmith, Debby C. Nesmith, James L. (Seline) Nesmith Jr. and Stacie L. (Antonio) Cooper; a special sister-in-law, Glander Pressley; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
