Life Reflections

Mr. Samuel D. Smith, was born on February 3, 1940, to the late John Smith, Sr. and Annie Mae Smith. He transitioned from this earthly realm into eternity on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at MUSC Health Black River Medical Center, Cades, South Carolina.

Samuel was educated in the public schools of Florence County. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Edith McCrea Smith, who preceded him in death.

Samuel was employed at Wellman Industries until his retirement.

Samuel was preceded in death by his four brothers.

Samuel leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Leroy Smith of Lake City, SC and Devin Epps of Florence, SC; three daughters, Loretta (Larry Gregg) Barr, Sandra Pringle and Samantha Epps all of Lake City, SC; two stepchildren, Frances (Leverne) Gamble of Kingstree, SC and Kenneth Epps of Florence, SC; four sisters, Margaret Davis of Lake City, SC, Alma Rice, Laura Alfair Williams and Joan Richardson all of Bridgeport, CT; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
