Life Reflections

Samuel Elijah "Harold" "Bubba" Jenkins, beloved son of the late Harry and Catherine Snipe Jenkins, was born on July 9, 1945, in Berkeley County, South Carolina. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at his home in Pineville, South Carolina.

Samuel was education in the public school system of Berkeley County. At an early age, he met the love of his life, Sadie Breach, whom he affectionately called "Baby Cake".  They were married on June 27, 1965, and were blessed with three loving children.

Samuel accepted Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of Jehovah United Methodist Church. He answered God's call to serve by sharing the Word of God and ministering to others. His faith and dedication to God's service were an important part of his life and legacy.

Throughout his life, he held a variety of jobs and was never afraid of hard work. His journey took him from farming the open fields to operating heavy equipment in road construction with Ray Miles Construction Company. He took pride in the things he loved and used the talents God had given him.   Early on he played lead guitar with "The Dynamic Rock Band" in New York and later with the gospel group, "The Richardson Starlights" in South Carolina. He loved to sing as he shared his musical talent with the church, serving as both a guitarist and organist that blessed and inspired others.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Catherine Snipe Jenkins; seven brothers, Burlie, Robert, Oneil, Isiah, Walter, Leon, and Jimmy; one sister, Louise Jenkins Reid.

Samuel leaves behind a story that will continue to live through the lives of those who knew and loved him:  his loving wife of 61 years, Sadie Breach Jenkins; one daughter, Mildred (John) Barber of Augusta, Georgia; two sons, Samuel Elijah Jenkins, Jr. of Columbia, SC, and Kenneth (Pamela) Jenkins of Kershaw, SC; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Crawford (St. Julian) of St. Stephen, SC, Anna Bell Salters of Russellville, SC, and Debra (Merwyn) Briscoe of Steven City, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Rosa Breach Gourdine of St. Stephen, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen, SC. 843-354-2292.
