Rodney
Ransom
Aug 23, 1953 — Nov 13, 2025
Kingstree
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Rodney Ransom 72, of Cheraw, SC, formerly of Kingstree, SC, who passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Life Reflections
Rodney Ransom, affectionately known as "Lips" or "Rango" to Family and Friends was born on August 23, 1953, to the late Jessie Mae and George Ransom. He was lovingly raised by his grandmother, the late Lilian Austin, all of Lake City, South Carolina. On November 13, 2025, God in His infinite peace and grace sent an angel to bring Rodney home to eternal rest with the Lord.
Rodney received his education in the Lake City School System, where he grew up surrounded by family, friends, and the community that shaped him. After completing school, he relocated to New Jersey, where he worked across several fields, including automotive sales with various car dealerships, John Cox Insurance, and photography with Strongs Photo Company. Known for his easy smile and his genuine ability to connect with others, Rodney carried a warm spirit into everything he did.
Rodney cherished his family deeply. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his cousins like siblings; Teri, Marva, and Kim; uncles Robert "RJ", Norman, and Cullin; his aunts, Mildred (Walter), Vera and Corine; and his nephew, Cedric.
He leaves to celebrate his life and hold his memory close: his son, Rodney Skipper; his sisters, Sharon and Beverly Ransom of Kingstree, SC, Vernessa Ransom, Sandra (Ralph) Horne, Stephanie Cribb all of Columbia, SC and Personna (Walter) White of Passaic, NJ; his nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Brandon, Jelicia, Terrell, Lilian, and Sierra; along with a host of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, other loving relatives, and devoted friends.
Rodney's presence will be missed, but the love, laughter, and memories he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
