Life Reflections

Richard Tisdale, affectionately known as "Ricky" was born April 9, 1962 to  Juewillie Bright Tisdale and the late Willie "Bill" Tisdale. On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, God called his son, "Ricky" to rest.

"Ricky" received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg County. He served as his Freshmen Class President and played Junior Varsity/Varsity Football.  At an early age, he became a member of St. John A.M. E. Church.

In his early years, Ricky worked for Santee Wool in Jamestown, SC and The Town of Lane in Lane, SC. He later moved to Jacksonville, Florida and spent over 40 years where he was employed with St. Catherine Laboure Manor Gate Concrete and Ellis Propeller. He retired and later decided to move back home to Andrews, South Carolina.

When Ricky moved back home, he could be found visiting friends and family whom he loved and transported them to and from shopping trips and to doctor's appointments. He loved to cook on the grill and cook his and everyone else favorite pork pot.  Ricky was the father of three children and the grandfather of five.  One child preceded him in death, Richard Ricardo. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jerome.

Left to cherish his memories are: his loving mother, Juewillie Tisdale of Andrews, SC; one daughter, Latish McDaniel, of Norfolk, VA; one son, Terrence Jerod Tisdale of Andrews, SC; four brothers, Arthur Bright of Jacksonville, FL, Curtis Tisdale (Brinda), Willie Tisdale, Jr. and Johama Tisdale (Tameca) all of Andrews, SC; five sisters, Mattie Greene, Betty Nesmith and Earline Tisdale all of Andrews, SC, Bonnie Grimsley (George) of Salters, SC and Kimerly Canty (Ronald) of Hinesville, GA; five grandchildren, Alexis, Brianna, Demarcus, Xzavier and Armani; seven aunts, Mary McDonald and Helen Thompson both of Jacksonville, FL, Addie Bell Bright and Mildred Cooper both of Lane, SC, Carrie Parson (James) of Columbia, SC,  Ida Alphonse of Miami, FL and Minnie Tomlin of W. Hempstead, NY; three uncles, Charlie (Alma) Bright and Bennie Bright (Charlene) both of Lane, SC and Harry Pasley (Rebecca) of Miami, FL; and a host of loved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
