Life Reflections

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;"  ~ John 11:25

Rachel Brown, beloved daughter of the late Chris Edding and Mary McDaniel‑Butler, was born on June 24, 1934, in Pineville, South Carolina. Having fought the good fight and finished her course, Rachel answered the Master's call and entered eternal rest on March 16, 2026.

She was united in marriage to the late Louis Brown of Pineville, South Carolina.

Rachel was a dedicated, active, and faithful member of The Church of the Redeemer in Pineville, SC. She graduated from Redeemer School and later became a certified Nursing Aide, a calling she fulfilled with compassion and grace.

Rachel dedicated her life to hard work and service. She was employed by the Oakland Club in Pineville, SC for 30 years, while simultaneously caring for others at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. For ten years, she greeted countless faces with warmth and kindness as a door greeter at Wal‑Mart in Moncks Corner. She also served as a Home Health caregiver for over a decade. Rachel's gentle spirit, laugh, compassion, and unwavering love touched everyone she encountered.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in eternal rest by her siblings: George McDaniel, Edward Edding, Carrie Taylor, Henrietta McCray, and Wilhemenia Boone and one grandson, Shaurmot Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Carolyn Brown of New Jersey, Joyce (Benjamin) King of St. Stephen, SC, Helen Brown of Augusta, GA, Louis (Victoria) Brown Jr. of Georgia, Anthony (Melody) Brown of Pineville, SC, LaQuetta White of Bonneau, SC, and Malisa Brown of Pineville, SC.

Rachel was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren, and she is remembered with love by a host of great‑grandchildren, as well as special nieces, nephews and cousin.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to live on in all who knew her.

The family is receiving friends and family at 1495 Colonel Maham Drive, Pineville, SC.

All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen, SC. 843-354-2292.
