Phostenia was educated in the Williamsburg County School System. She was a 1960 graduate of Cades High School. Phostenia was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Jim Jones. From this union, they were blessed with three sons.

With her gentle spirit and soft, radiant smile, she embarked on her journey as a mother, wife, and employee at Sears and Roebuck Company. Upon retirement, she and her husband returned to Nesmith, South Carolina. She worked at the House of Raeford Farms, Inc. for three years.

At an early age, Phostenia accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at Bethesda United Methodist Church. After marriage, she joined Harold O'Davis Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After retirement and retuning to South Carolina, she and her husband joined Friendship United Methodist Church where she served on the stewardess board.

Phostenia enjoyed attending Vital Aging Senior Center in Hemingway, South Carolina. Her favorite activity at the Senior Center was playing bingo. She also like doing crossword puzzles and watching country western shows.

In addition to her parents, Phostenia was preceded in death by: her brothers, Gilbert Fulmore and Richard "Laddie" Fulmore.
