Mrs. Peggy Smith Martin, affectionately called "Peg", was born on May 24, 1941 in Georgetown, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late July and Mamie Mickel Smith. She passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025.

Sister Martin was a graduate of Howard High School in Georgetown, SC. After graduation she moved to Peeksville, NY, where she met and married Lawrence Martin, who preceded her in death. Sis. Martin was employed at the Veterans Hospital in Peeksville, NY. Upon retirement, "Peg" returned home and gained employment at the International Paper Mill in Georgetown, SC for many years.

Sister Martin's memories will linger longest with: her only son, Herbert (Debbie) Smith of  (North Santee) Georgetown, SC; three grandsons, Herbert (LaToya) Smith Jr., AJ (Celeste) Smith and Shawn (Cinquanta); a devoted and special niece, Erica Smith. Sis. Smith was blessed to create lasting memories with twelve great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
