Life Reflections

Mrs. Pearline Pressley, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024, after suffering a brain aneurysm at home.  Mrs. Pearline "Ma" "Granny" "Grandma Pressley" was born on June 9, 1929, in Nesmith, SC to the late Frank Graham and Georgianna Scott Graham.

Pearline was a beloved matriarch and pillar in the community.

Mrs. Pearline was known for her boundless love, vibrant storytelling, and dedication to nurturing children.  Her wisdom was beyond measure and her love for her family knew no boundaries. She was known for speaking her mind and living without regrets.

Pearline worked in childcare for many years, cleaned local busi-

nesses (including Jenkinson Law, Dr. Schwartz Dental Office and Farm Bureau). She retired from Williamsburg Academy after a long career as a facilities manager.

Pearline leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished stories. Her impact on the lives she touched will be remembered for generations to come. Pearline was part of a large, close-knit family. Throughout her life, she extended that sense of family to her entire community, helping to raise and look out for countless children.

Pearline was preceded in death by her husband Willie Joe Pressley, Sr and her children, Willie Joe Pressley, Jr., Gertrude Coursey, Raymond Pressley and one grandson, Joshua Pressley.

She is survived by: her two sons, Bentley Thurmond Pressley and Ron (Tonia) Coursey both of Kingstree, SC; her eight grandchildren, including one very special grandson, Ahmad V. Coursey (Tara Brockington) who was raised in the home; her many great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Georgianna McGill and Evelyn Graham both of Philadelphia, PA; her brother, Harry Graham of Kingstree, SC; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Broadway of North Carolina and Mary Chandler (Edward) of New Jersey; nieces, nephews and a community that will deeply miss her presence.

The family is receiving friends and family at her late residence, 168 Kindale Park Rd., Kingstree, SC.
