Celebrating the Life of Norman Lee Giles

March 22, 1967 – September 16, 2026

Norman Lee Giles was born on Wednesday, March 22, 1967, in Newark, New Jersey, to Eddie and Roxie Giles. In 1972, Norman moved with his family to Andrews, South Carolina, where he grew up and made many lifelong friendships. He was educated in the Georgetown County school system and graduated from Andrews High School in 1985.

On December 24, 1994, Norman married Aronica Hines. From their union came three children whom he loved dearly: Nigiel, Jamal, and Sydney.

Norman was a hardworking man who took pride in what he did. At the time of his passing, he was employed by Gerdau Steel in Charlotte, North Carolina.

But Norman was so much more than the places he lived, the schools he attended, or the jobs he held. Norman was truly one of a kind. He never met a stranger. With his outgoing personality, infectious spirit, and natural ability to make people feel welcome, he could walk into a room and leave with a new friend. Affectionately known as Stormin' Norman, he was often the life of the party and brought laughter, energy, and unforgettable moments wherever he went.

Norman was also an expert auto detailer. He had a special gift for making a vehicle shine, and anyone familiar with his work knew that he took detailing seriously. Many of the doctors at Georgetown Memorial Hospital could attest to his skills!

When Norman wasn't working or making someone laugh, he enjoyed fishing and spending time doing the things he loved. He was a faithful and devoted Las Vegas Raiders fan, proudly supporting his team through the wins, the losses, and everything in between.

Norman departed this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Charlotte NC. Though no longer physically with us, his presence will not easily be forgotten. His laughter, personality, stories, friendships, and the love he shared with his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Norman leaves to cherish his memory: his three children, Nigiel Giles of Charlotte, NC, Jamal Giles and Sydney Giles of Raleigh, NC; his parents, Eddie and Roxie Giles of Georgetown, SC; his siblings, Yvette Giles Thompson of District Heights, MD, Donell Giles of Andrews, SC, and Eric Giles of Georgetown, SC; brother-in-love and sisters-in-love, Derrick (Jannette) Green of Florence, SC, Michelle (Shellie) Harrison of Orangeburg, SC, and Sonya Brown of Charlotte, NC; his nieces and nephews, Jalisa, Morgan, Joshua, Carrington, Jessica, DeQuan, Shakayla, Crystal, Kelsey, Nia, and Jelani; two special brothers, Rodney Giles of Andrews, SC, and Thaddeus (Paulette) Nettles of Georgetown, SC; along with a host of aunts, uncles, extended family members, and countless others whose lives he touched.

All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Andrews, SC. 843-354-2292.
