Obituary

With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Missionary Dothrine Chandler Fulton, 78, of Kingstree, SC, widow of the late Deacon Edward "Sonny" Fulton, who passed away on Saturday,  April 13, 2024 at her residence.

Life Reflections

Dothrine Chandler Fulton was born September 29, 1945 in Williamsburg County to the union of Elder Lonnie and Mother Bessie Chandler. She transitioned from labor to reward on April 13, 2024 in her home after a long illness.

Dothrine affectionately known as "Doe", was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from St. Mark High School. Later in life she went on to study at Williamsburg Technical College and received certificates in cake decoration,  floral decoration, and cosmetology.

Dothrine was employed at Baxter Travenol Laboratory for 30 plus years and eventually retired from there. After retirement, she ventured into other places of employment such as Tupperware Plastics, the Town of Kingstree, and also as a private duty caregiver.

Dothrine enjoyed gardening, baking and decorating cakes, sewing, doing hair, doing floral arrangements, shopping, spending time with family, singing, and being active in the church.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and remained dedicated to her father's church (Elder Lonnie Chandler )which was established in the Cedar Swamp Community. While at Mt. Sinai Way of the Cross, she served in the capacity of Youth for Christ President, President of the Missionary Department, Youth and Primary Sunday School teacher, usher, church secretary, choir director, kitchen committee, janitorial services, hospitality committee, a member of the Prayer Band, and any other capacity as needed until her health declined. She firmly believed that "Only what you do for Christ will last", "If God don't do it, it won't be done", and "God can do anything but fail."

Dothrine Fulton was united in Holy Matrimony to Deacon. Edward "Sonny" Fulton whom preceded her in death. This union was blessed with six children, Brinda Fulton of Smyra, GA, Edward "Nicky" Fulton (Risha) of Florence, SC, LaBonta Fulton, Denise Fulton and Shacovia Fulton all of Kingstree, SC; one of the six children, Beatrice Singletary preceded her in death. Dothrine was blessed with only three grandchildren, Devin Fulton, Kayloni Fulton and Brinen Fulton. Peyton Monroe Fulton is the only great grandchild to date.

Nine siblings will cherish her memory: five brothers, Elder Joseph Chandler (Fannie) of Kingstree, SC, Deacon Melvin Chandler (Herneitha) of Philadelphia, PA and Steven Chandler of Kingstree, SC; three brothers preceded her in death, Johnathan Chandler (Jannie) formerly of Washington, DC, Norman Chandler (Evonne) formerly of Oxon Hill, MD and Tony Chandler (Alice)  formerly of Philadelphia, PA; three sisters, Jean Porter of Kingstree, SC, Elect Lady Artice Dunmore (Apostle William R. Dunmore) of Bloomingville, SC, and Elect Lady Audrey Douglas (James) of Florence, SC; Mary Anne Cooper was reared in the home as a sister.

Her memory will also be cherished by four sisters- in-law, Ludie Brown (Allen) of Florence, SC, Pearlie McMillian (Kelly) of Kingstree, SC, Carolyn Banks (Larry) of Kingstree, SC and LaQuina Fulton of Richmond, VA; one living aunt, Mrs. Hattie Fulton (Willie) of Kingstree, SC. Dothrine was blessed a number of special niece, nephews and kids in the neighborhood she took as her own. During her illness she was blessed with a number of long term dedicated cousins, neighbors, and friends; a special caregiver, Mrs. Pamela Taylor of Kingstree, SC.

Dothrine (Mrs. Doe) will be remembered for her gentle, soft caring personality, her dedication to Christ and her family. Her hospitality was unmatched as she invited many into her home for cooked meals and fellowship. She always welcomed friends and family into her home.

At this time, the family is NOT receiving friends and family at the home.
