Obituary

With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Mike McFadden, 64, of Lake City, SC, who passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Life Reflections

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

Mike Carr McFadden was born on August 4, 1961, to the late Sidney Jo and Zelma McFadden in Florence, South Carolina. Mike attended the public schools of Florence School District Three, and was a proud member of the Class of 1979. Upon completing school, Mike entered the workforce, using his hands and his hammer to showcase his skilled carpentry work. He worked for several companies over the years before eventually venturing out on his own.

Mike truly loved working with his hands. He enjoyed gardening, growing and selling vegetables within the community, fishing, traveling, caring for and raising his animals, barbequing, and spending quality time with family and friends. He had an infectious spirit and a sense of humor like no other.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Mike entered eternal rest on February 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by family.

Mike was preceded in death by: his parents, Sidney Jo and Zelma McFadden, and his siblings, McArthur McFadden, Odell Brown and Ellen Lee Richardson.

Mike leaves to cherish his precious memories: his companion of twenty-one years, Shirley Wilson; his son, Randall (Gasha) State of Johnsonville, SC; reared as his own, Natoshia (Clarence) Hamilton of Lake City, SC, Walter Henderson of Charlotte, NC, Alexandria (Frasier) Williams of Jacksonville, FL; his siblings, Vivian (John) Stuckey of New Windsor, NY, Richard (Liz) McFadden of Jamaica, NY, Sidney (Melanie) McFadden of Hopkins, SC, Barbara McLaney of Albany, NY, Carolyn (Donald) Herring of Dover, DE, Judy Wilson of Lake City, SC, Katherine Moyd of Elgin, SC, Franklin (Janice) McFadden of Lake City, SC, Joann (Timothy) Burgess of Columbia, SC, Wanda (James) Capers of Lynchburg, SC, Chevette (O'Neil) Walker of Mesa, AZ; his brothers-in-law, Charles Brown of Olanta, SC, and Roy (Mary) Mimms of Delray Beach, FL; his sister-in-law, Maggie McFadden of Eastover, SC; his paternal aunt, Delores (Issac) Wilson of Olanta, SC; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
