Michael Jerome
Geathers
May 3, 1963 — Apr 4, 2026
McClellanville
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Michael Jerome Geathers, 62, of McClellanville, SC, husband of Dorese Geathers, who passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Life Reflections
Michael Jerome Geathers, affectionately known as "Suck Suck " was born to James and the late Josephine Geathers on May 3, 1963 in McClellanville, South Carolina. He enjoyed his childhood with his siblings and cousins where they played, lovingly fought, and forged relationships that lasted a lifetime.
In his younger days, Michael passionately attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. While he did not continue attending church later in life, he had a personal relationship with Christ.
He attended Lincoln High School and created lasting friendships with his classmates from the Class of 1981. For work, he enjoyed being a commercial fisherman and a brick mason.
A few years after high school, on September 20, 1989, Michael married the love of his life Dorese Geathers. On any given day you could find them fussing, which was their personal love language. Dorese was with Micheal until his last earthly breath and carries him in her heart.
Michael was blessed with four amazing children, Antuan Miller, La'seto Gibson, Michelle Geathers, and Myesha Geathers. His children then blessed him with nine amazing grandchildren, Aubrey Thompson, Sheldon Thompson Jr., Tamia Miller, Jamaya Cooper, Nevaeh Reid, Maijor Reid, Zamar Gibson, Zy'mir Gibson, and Naira Reid. His children and grandchildren kept his life lively.
Michael spent his last days speaking his mind and enjoying the company of his wife, children, father, siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends. Unexpected by his family and friends but perfectly planned by God, he peacefully transitioned to his eternal home on April 4, 2026.
In addition to his loving mother, Josephine Geathers, Micheal was preceded in death by, a precious granddaughter, Naira Reid; dedicated sister, Betty G. Hazel; and brothers, James Geathers Jr. and Kenneth Geathers. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, he leaves to cherish his memories: a dedicated father, James Geathers; brother, Marvin Gathers (Angelee); uncles, Thomas Geathers (Berdell), Julius Geathers (Patsy Ann), Herman Geathers, Ben Snyder Jr., and Apostle Samlee Snyder (San); aunts, Juanita Weston, Lillian Garrett, Sandra Ward (Willie), Annie Mae (Melvin), Marylee Brown (William); mother-in-law, Carrie Frasier; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Geathers, Erma Smith, Suzanne Pryor, Sandra McBride; brother-in-law, Henry Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Andrews, SC. 843-354-2292.
