With deepest sorrow, we at Henryhand Funeral Home, regret to announce the passing of Mazie Lou Pearson, 78, of Manning, SC, a retired Nurse, who passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at McLeod Hospital, Florence, SC.

Life Reflections

Mazie L. Pearson was born in Jordan, South Carolina on January 1, 1947, to the late Mr. John Pearson and Mrs. Anna Belle Clark Pearson.

Mazie grew up in Clarendon County and obtained her education in the public schools of Clarendon County, graduating from Manning Training High School. A few years after graduating from high school, she attended Job Corp to further her education in Kansas City, Missouri to become a nurse. After working as a nurse for many years, she then retired and returned to South Carolina. Mazie had a passion for taking care of others. She became a member of Triumph Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. Mazie enjoyed going to church and praising God.

In 1970 she was blessed with one daughter, Lisa (Pearson) Huggins. She loved her daughter and family dearly. On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, God called home our beloved Mazie L. Pearson at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robbie Pearson and Jewel Pearson; four sisters, Hattie Mary Pearson, Bertha Mae Pearson, Lottie Pearson, and Purnal Pearson Hammett; one niece, Brenda; two nephews, Jimmy Lee Brock Jr., and Marvin Brock.

Mazie will surely be missed by those she left to cherish her precious memories and legacy of love. Survivors include: her beloved daughter, Lisa Huggins of Manning, SC; one sister, Ethel Lee Brock of Manning, SC; four grandchildren, Christopher Huggins, Quentin Huggins, Cameron Huggins, and Alicia Huggins all of Manning, SC. She also had one special nephew, Ellison Brock of Philadelphia, PA; along with a host of other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends and at her late residence, 1175 Christopher St., Manning, SC.
