Life Reflections
Matthew Dustin Montgomery
1992 - 2024
Matthew Dustin Montgomery was born on April 30, 1992, in Charleston, South Carolina. He passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Black River Medical Center in Cades, South Carolina.
A 2010 graduate of Kingstree Sr. High, Matthew went on to earn his degree in Computer Resources Management from Williamsburg Tech in 2017. He had a passion for technology, which he expressed through his hobby of fixing electronics.
Matthew spent his days working at Home Depot in Florence, SC, where he enjoyed collaborating with his friends.
Matthew was known for his private nature, but those who took the time to know him were rewarded with a funny and warm-hearted individual. He was an avid gamer who delighted in playing video games alongside his fiancée, Jenetrius "Nene" Fulton. In addition to gaming, he expressed his creativity through writing and drawing comics, and he found joy in watching anime.
In late 2023, Matthew gave his life to God at Big Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Greeleyville, SC, where he joined the Usher Board. He had a unique ability to bring lightness to difficult times, often distracting his younger siblings with laughter during their childhood.
He was a cherished son of the late Sheryl Montgomery; a beloved brother to twin sister, Shalatisa Montgomery of Olanta, SC and brothers, William Montgomery of Charlotte, NC, Amondi Montgomery of Columbus, GA, Derrick Page Jr. of Olanta, SC and Tyre Wigfall of Pineville, SC. Matthew was also a proud uncle to his nephew and nieces, Khristian Montgomery, Korteiz Latham, Kamdynn Latham, and Kazs'Li Graham. He is cherished by a host of aunties, uncles, and loving cousins. Matthew will be dearly missed by all who knew him, remembered fondly as "Matt," a loving brother, uncle, a loyal friend and a compassionate soul.
The family is receiving friends and family at 479 Hyman Circle, Olanta, SC.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Lake City, SC. 843-354-2292.
