Obituary

With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Mary Rebecca Richardson, 51, of Summerville, SC, who passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at her residence.

Life Reflections

Mary Rebecca (Jenkins) Richardson, affectionally known as "Muffin", was born October 10, 1972 in Silver Springs, Maryland. She was born to Helen King Eadie and the late Claude L. Jenkins. She was reared in the home by Thomas Oneal Eadie, who preceded her in death.

Mary found the Lord at an early age growing in faith and in God's favor in Day Dawn Baptist Church, Pineville, SC, where she was a member of the Youth Choir.  She was educated in Berkeley County Schools where she graduated from St. Stephen High, St. Stephen, SC in 1990. She furthered her education attending the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. After graduation, Mary worked for Bank of America for many years until changing her career path and working and later retiring from AT&T. She returned home and resided in Summerville, SC and was blessed with her pride and joy in the form of her son, Christian Alexander Richardson in 2009.

Muffin's faith never wavered even in her illness. She knew and stayed strong in the Lord and his favor was evident in the way he moved in her life. On her toughest days she remained optimistic and steadfast and always found a way to uplift and encourage others. There was no mountain she would not move for Christian and her loved ones. Her family meant everything to her. Muffin loved to shop, eat, and talk on the phone. Time of day meant nothing to her, if she felt like calling you she did. Her presence in the lives of all who knew and loved her was and will remain  everlasting.

Mary was a member of St. John Chapter 213 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served with dedication as the chapter's secretary. She was also a member of St. Stephen Auxiliary Post 7723.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: her adored son, Christian Alexander Richardson of the home; her loving mother, Helen K. Eadie of St. Stephen, SC; her beloved siblings, Ramona King-Singleton of St. Stephen, SC, Lisa C. Jenkins of Bowie, MD, Claude L. Jenkins II (Varnya) of Triangle, VA, and Velma E. Scott of St. Stephen, SC; three uncles, Sammie King of Baltimore, MD, Isaac King of Woodbridge, VA and Leonard (Ruth) King of St. Stephen, SC; two aunts, Angie (Theodore) Simmons of Long Ridge, SC and Shirley Swain of Poughkeepsie, NY; four nieces,  Nicole Willis of Summerville, SC, Khadyajah Jenkins of Houston, TX, Thomia Singleton of St. Stephen, SC and Joielle Jenkins of Oxonhill, MD; three nephews, Olajuwon Jenkins of San Antonio, TX, Jordan Scott of St. Stephen, SC and Thomas Scott of Summerville, SC; one grandniece and nephew, Jayce and Jailee Willis of Summerville, SC. She also leaves to cherish her memory: two special cousins, Thelma Gadsden of Swamp Fox, SC and Vanessa Simmons of Long Ridge, SC; two dedicated friends, Whitney Edwards and Lorrie Lockwood; and her beloved cat, Taylor.

The family will receive friends and family at 1468 Russellville Road, St. Stephen, SC.
