With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Mary Dumas, 88, of Greeleyville, SC, who passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

LIFE REFLECTIONS

Mary Dumas was born on October 18, 1935, to the late Levine and Estell Cantey Gamble in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Mary spent her early childhood and teenage life in Greeleyville, Williamsburg County Township area. She attended various community based schools including the school for colored children, known as the "Old School", which later became the Williamsburg Training School and sometime in the early 70's, they became C.E. Murray High and Elementary School.

In the fall of 1952, after the death of her mother Estell, Mary moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where she found employment as a cook.

Mary/Ms. Dumas, later moved to Florida, where she resided until she decided to return home and reside with her niece and nephew at 580 Old Greeleyville Road, Greeleyville, SC.

Mary is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
