Life Reflections

Marilyn Marill Jenkins, lovingly known as "Jackie" to her close friends and family, was born on March 14, 1957, to Albert and Geronia Jenkins of Lake City, South Carolina.

Jackie graduated from Lake City High School in 1976. After completing her early education, she attended Claflin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina, where she studied Early Childhood Education. After graduation, Jackie ventured beyond the schoolhouse and joined the Richland County Police Department in Columbia, South Carolina. During her tenure, Jackie dedicated 20 years to public safety and service as both a police officer and corrections officer. She later returned home to Florence, South Carolina, where she worked in various customer service roles and continued to touch the lives of many. Jackie retired from the workforce in 2022 and settled back in Lake City, South Carolina, to be close to her family and loved ones.

Jackie was called home to her final resting place on August 18, 2025. She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her devoted parents, Albert and Geronia Jenkins of Lake City, South Carolina; two brothers, Norman (Marquita) of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Alvin (Wanda) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one sister, Angel of Decatur, Georgia; one nephew raised as a brother, Carlos of Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; five nieces and nephews, Ashley, Taylor, Jerona, Timothy, and Matthew; one great-nephew, Naishadh.. All of them join in the celebration of her Homegoing.
