With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Marian Louise Dukes, 70, of Greeleyville, SC, who passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

Life Reflections

"There are things in life we cannot understand, but we must trust in God and be guided by his hand. All who have God's blessings can rest safely in His care."

Marian "Maggie" Louise Dukes was called to rest on Sunday, June, 22, 2025 at Mcleod Health Clarendon, Manning, S.C. She was born to the late Annie Dell Dukes and Harold Tisdale on November 19, 1954 in Greeleyville, South Carolina. She was reared in the home of the late John and Oneeda Dukes. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Edward Davis.

Marian received her formal education in the public school system of Williamsburg County Training School. She was employed as a machine operator at St. Stephens Knitwear, Carolina Knits, Hebron Textile, and Kingstree Knits. She was also the business owner of Greeleyville Package Store.

At an early age, Marian accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and she joined Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church, where she worshipped. Marian was a loving mother and an advocate for the community. She loved her plants and flowers, spending time on the beach and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. She also had a great sense of humor with a giving heart.

Marian will forever be loved and cherished by: her son, Carlton Dukes (Sylvia) of Columbia, SC; daughters, Stacey Dukes of Mooresville, NC, Carmen Dukes of Charleston, SC and Carnette Jones (Maurice) of Anderson, SC; sister, Alisa Miles of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Christopher D. Russell, Jazzmine C. Dukes, Charles E. Footman Jr., Cameron B. Dukes-Law, Casee` O. Footman, Caleb J. Kirkland, Gadiella R. Jones and Gilana N. Jones; great grandchildren, Brooke, Olivia and Naomi; one surrogate sister,  Barbara Dukes; a special cousin, Gracie Conyers; along with a host of close cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Special thanks to the community of Greeleyville for the love and support shared over the years.
