Life Reflections

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.              Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

A time to be born: MARGARET COOPER BROCKINGTON, daughter of the late Frank Cooper, Sr. and Louise Evans Cooper was born on May 8, 1940 in Clarendon County, South Carolina. She departed her earthly life on Friday, April 19, 2024 at MUSC Black River Medical Center, Cades, South Carolina.

Margaret received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County.

At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and became a member of St. John A.M.E. Church.

Margaret was united in Holy Matrimony to the late James Brockington.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Cooper McCrea and two brothers, Richard Cooper and Frank Cooper, Jr.

Margaret was loved by everyone whom she met. She was a homemaker who took care of everyone in her family. She made an impact on the lives of everyone she encountered. She loved her family and friends very much. She was very active in the lives of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Although our hearts are filled with sorrow, we can rejoice in the many memories we have of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will forever live in our hearts, she will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are: a loving sister, Lillian Cooper Gray of Brooklyn, NY; one devoted brother, Johnny Cooper of Kingstree, SC; one daughter-in-law, Mary Alice Cooper of New Zion, SC; two devoted grandsons, Charles E. (Vanessa) Cooper of the home and Gregory McKenzie of New York; two stepsons, Ronnie Brockington and Luther Brockington both of Kingstree, SC; three stepdaughters, Verline (Thomas) Miller of Greeleyville, SC, Dorothy Burgess and Rose Marie Childers both of Kingstree, SC; one grandson she reared as her own, Allen Jermaine Brockington of Kingstree, SC; four sisters-in-law, Barbara McFadden of Lake City, SC, Mary (Malachi) Wilson of Sumter, SC, Shirley Cooper of Olanta, SC and Lottie Brockington of Lake City, SC; a special cousin, Ruth Pressley of New Zion, SC; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
