Obituary

With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Mancy Felder, 79, of Salters, SC, who passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

Life Reflections

Mr. Mancy Felder, 79 years young, of Salters, SC, was called home by the heavenly father on Thursday morning, November 7, 2024.  He was born on January 8, 1945, in Salters, SC, a son of the late Lily Nancy and Isiah Felder Sr.

Mancy attended C.E. Murray High School, where he showcased his talent as a saxophone player in the band. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army. Mancy served as a Paratrooper in the Vietnam War, earning an Honorable Discharge and several decorations, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal with "V" Device. After returning home from the war, he moved his family to Rochester, NY to provide a better quality of life for them.  For the next 35 years, he worked in various roles at General Motors, eventually retiring as a Foreman. In 2002, he and his beloved wife retired and moved back to their hometown of Salters, SC. There, they continued to nurture and support their family, build community relationships, and actively participate as dedicated members of the Greater Lane Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Affectionately known as "Blue" and "Mr. Saturday Night," Mancy was a courageous, ambitious, high-spirited, music loving, and compassionate husband, father, and friend to many. A pillar of strength, he offered guidance, support and unconditional love through every challenge. His journey on this earth was marked by his unwavering faith in GOD and his love of family and life. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many others whose lives he touched. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and the profound impact he had on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mancy is survived, missed, and loved by his beautiful wife of 55 years, Carlis Felder. He is deeply cherished by his five daughters: Carla "Terri" Felder (Rodney Rivers), Charmaine "Charm" Cooke (Theodore Calvin Stevens), Lisa Felder (Rondel Thompson), Aleshia "Trecy" McMath (Johnny McMath), and Shea Shorter (Marcel Shorter).

He will be forever remembered by his seventeen grandchildren: Fredrick Gaston (Vasanta Woods), Kiara Smith (Stewart Mouzone), Tomiah Graham, Tyshawn Minley (Arriel), Daquan Travet, Latrell Travet, Lacee Wims, Lexis May, Johnny McMath Jr., Jernard McMath, Joh'Quan McMath, Azhairya Felder-Howard, Aysia McMath, Jabez Miller, Aubrianna Shorter, Zykell Shorter, and Saleea Shorter; and his eight great-grandchildren: Taylor Gaston, Rylee Gaston, Rylen Corbett, Teagan Felder, Ki'Lee Montgomery, Lauren Wilson, Jordyn McMath, and Juniee McMath.

Mancy is also survived by his two sisters, Mary White (Charles White) and Sarah "Mickey" Pearson (John Pearson); and his brothers and sisters-in-love: Mildred Swinton (Charles Mitchell-deceased), Murray Beaufort, Lucille Gamble (Matt Gamble-deceased), Hazel Murray (John Murray), Harry Beaufort (Ruth McLaughlin-deceased), Geraldine Harvin (Harry Harvin-deceased), and Barbara McClary (Willie McClary).

His cherished niece, Yvonne Burns, his nephew, Bernard Felder, his cousin Paul "Bo" Felder along with a host of loving family members and friends, will also hold his memory dear.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Lillie Scott, Pearl Murray, Margaret McClary, Daisy Chandler, Isiah Felder, James Felder, Moses Green Jr, and Geraldine Lightborn.

Although Mancy is no longer here in the physical, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.

To my loving husband and our Daddy, as you continue to sing, dance, protect us, and watch over us, please know you will forever hold a special place in our hearts. With love, your devoted wife "Squah," your daughters "The Felder Five," all your grandchildren and great-grandchildren "The Jive Turkeys," your family, and your friends.
