Mae Bell Reid-Mayer was born on March 12, 1943, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Deacon John T. Fulmore and Mother Maggie N. Fulmore. God called her home from "labor to reward" on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Mae Bell was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. After graduating from St. Mark High School, she moved to Rochester, New York at the young age of 17. She resided there for a number of years before relocating to Philadelphia, PA. She met and was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Robert Reid, Jr. for 20 plus years. To this union God blessed them with two beautiful children. She later met and married the late Melvin Mayer.

Mae Bell was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Raven Reid-Terrell, her twin grandbabies, Janayjah & Anayjah Reid, a stepdaughter, Renee Reid, a step grandson, Cordell Jones, Jr., one sister, Daisy Grant and four brothers, John, George, Joseph and Lonnie Fulmore.

During her years in Philadelphia, she was employed as a seamstress at Loverly Lady Comfort Company for 15 years. She was also part Owner of A&M Cleaners until she retired. After retiring she relocated back to her home in the Bloomingville Community where she resided. Because of her unwavering faith and love for her church and community, she was affectionately known as AUNT MAE. "Aunt Mae" became a devoted member of St. Peter Way of the Cross Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Keith D. Nesmith. She later joined and became a member of Greater St. Peter Apostolic Faith Church under the leadership of Bishop James E. Rush. Through the years Aunt Mae has served the church in many capacities. She was the Usher Board President and a member of the Mother Board. During the time up to the day of her passing she was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and caregiver, where she gained the love and respect from the whole entire community due to her willingness to help where she was needed. Doing overwhelming support of making sure her immediate family was taken care of and never turning a blind eye. She loved her family, friends and community with everything within her.
