Life Reflections
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
~2 Timothy 4:7-8~
"The Mother Hen of the Cleveland Family"
Louise Cleveland Jones was born on April 27, 1952, to the late Charlie and Florence Stark Cleveland of Pineville, South Carolina, peacefully transitioned on April 9, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home.
"Wease" as family and friends affectionately called her, was the fourth of nine children, received her education in Berkeley County Public Schools. Her love for helping others, especially children led her to work at Saint Stephens Head Start and Lanes Head Start Programs before becoming a County Commercial Transportation Driver. From there, Louise began driving for Tri-County Link Transportation until her retirement in April 2023. She loved her job and never met a stranger that didn't become a friend.
One of her biggest blessings was the birth of her daughter Khadijah in 1969. She later met and married Willie E. Wilson in 1975. From this union, they were blessed with two sons, Terrance and Willie Jr. Although the marriage ended in divorce in 1986, the two remained close friends until his untimely death. Louise later found love again and in 1991 united in Holy Matrimony to the late Sylvester Jones, with whom she shared five stepchildren. As "The Mother Hen" of the Cleveland Family, Wease had a special gift for caring for others, particularly the young generation, within her immediate family and beyond. She took the art of parenting very seriously. She was committed to nurturing and guiding the younger generation to be respectful and responsible adults. No matter how many wrong turns you made, Wease made sure you would learn to make it right. This was evident in her love and care for De'Aundre White, Jataugha White, Savon White, Ja'Quan Reid, Na'Lig (Nazzy) Mouzon and Kee'Lan (KD) Wells.
Louise was a person with a heart of gold and a warm welcoming personality. Her smile was so infectious, and you couldn't help but smile back. Louise continued to care for others while offering a helping hand until her recent decline in health.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Charlie Cleveland and Florence Starks Cleveland; ex-husband, Willie E. Wilson Sr.; husband, Sylvester Jones; sisters, Annie Mae Cleveland and Charlie Mae Cleveland, brother-in-law, Daniel Mitchell and bonus son, Ja'Quan Reid.
