Nesmith
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Lina Carlvon "Lennie" Nesmith, 60, of Nesmith, SC, who passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Obituary
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid; These are the words of assurance that the Lord has said. Let him be your comfort, let him be your friend, let him walk beside you from beginning to end.
Born on February 20, 1966, in Nesmith, South Carolina, Lennie Carlvon Nesmith was the youngest son of the late Harold and Ila Mae Nesmith.
Lennie joined Friendship United Methodist Church at an early age and graduated from Hemingway High School as a member of the Class of 1984, where he participated in both the marching band and ROTC. He spent the next 42 years as a master craftsman and jack of all trades, with expertise in building, plumbing, welding, carpentry, and many other skilled trades. He worked throughout his community and the surrounding areas, helping as many people as he could. Lennie truly enjoyed his work and found joy in serving others. He loved his family with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, grandparents, his wife, Tracy Turner Nesmith and his niece, Harolette Jones.
Lennie leaves to cherish: his daughter, Abigail (Justin) Green; his son, Lennie Antwan Anderson; his grandchildren, Ava, Levi, Jae and Jaxson; his siblings, Harold (Priscilla) Nesmith, Edison Nesmith, Dianne Pressley, Dwayne (Brenda) Nesmith, William (Michelle) Person and Shantay Nesmith.
Lennie is also survived by: his loving aunt, Amelia (Thomas) Fulton, a cherished member of the family; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Although he was born Lennie, he adopted the name Lina (pronounced Ly-Na) in his young adult years, inspired by his admiration for Lionel Richie. The name became a reflection of his unique spirit and the identity he proudly carried for the rest of his life. Lina's sense of humor was unmatched. His quick wit, infectious laughter, and playful personality brought joy to family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
