With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Lillie B. Jones, 85, of Miami, FL, formerly of Kingstree, SC, the widow of the late Joe louis Jones, who passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Lillie Blondell Jones

Lillie Blondell Jones, affectionately known as "Swimpy" was born on March 28, 1940 in Kingstree, South Carolina to Samuel and Nettie Fulton, both preceded her in death. Swimpy attended and graduated from Tomlinson High School in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. Lillie was the sixth of ten children. At an early age, she joined Midway Baptist Church of Kingstree. On January 20, 1966, she was joined in Holy Matrimony with Mr. Joe Jones. After giving birth to two children, Lillie and her family moved and resided in Miami, Florida in 1965. There she worked for Warren Jones as a Hospitality Worker while attending Lindsey Hopkins Technical College where she received her Nursing Assistant Certification. She would often say her family and friends were her biggest accomplishments. Lillie was affectionately called "Miss Blondell" and "Mother of the  55th Street Block". Those who loved Swimpy knew she shared an abundance of love, laughter and strength with a very sharp, keen mind with her storytelling. She was beloved in the Miami neighborhood for providing motherly love.

Lillie later joined Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Douglas Cook, Sr. She served as a faithful member there until her health began to decline. On October 6, 2024, God plucked a rose from His garden and she will be forever missed by her loving family.

Lillie leaves to cherish her memories: an amazing son, James Bernard Jones (Zebrina); her sister, Hattie Fulton of Kingstree, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Ketwone (Latoya), Saquondra, Shakevia, Tashara, Sharraine (Joshua), James "Duck" Jones, Jennifer, Curtis, Josalyn and Steven; her great grandchildren, Precious, Kemonie, Jekiah, Latasha, Janiya, Jontiva, Malachi, Leonidas, Malik, Sharon, Rose, Ireland, Judith, Lauren, Kaden and Chosen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lillie was preceded in death by: her husband, Joe Jones and her loving daughter, Latasha Michelle Fulton.
