Obituary

Life Reflections

Kelton B. Johnson was a man whose presence filled every room he entered. Born on June 4, 1932 to the late King Johnson and Lillie Queen Dukes-Johnson in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. Kelton lived a life marked by charisma, laughter, and an unmistakable warmth that drew people to him. He was funny, outgoing, and deeply engaging—someone who never met a stranger and left a lasting impression wherever he went.

An entrepreneur at heart, Kelton built his life through vision, determination, and hard work. As a respected real estate investor in Bronx, New York, he exemplified perseverance and ambition, creating opportunities not only for himself but for those around him. His business sense was matched by his ability to connect with people, earning trust and admiration through both integrity and charm.

Above all else, Kelton loved his family deeply. Family was the center of his world and the source of his greatest pride. He cherished time spent with loved ones, finding joy in shared laughter, meaningful conversations, and the simple blessing of togetherness. His love was steady, generous, and unwavering, and it will continue to live on through the family he held so dear.

He held deep respect and admiration for his pastors and remained a faithful, committed member of his family church, Cedar Grove Baptist Church, and home church Agape, of Bronx, NY.

Kelton B. Johnson will be remembered for his infectious personality, sharp wit, entrepreneurial spirit, and boundless love for his family. His legacy is one of resilience, joy, and connection—a life well lived and a man deeply loved.

Though he is no longer with us in body, Kelton's spirit remains present in the memories he created, the stories shared, and the love that will endure for generations. He was simply, THE LAST MAN STANDING.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ernestine H. Johnson, whose love, companionship, and memory remained a constant source of strength and comfort throughout his life.

He was also preceded in death by: his siblings, William K. Johnson, Ezekiel Johnson, Egusta Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Kelly Johnson, Namen Bennett, Mary Chavis, Janie Freeman, Esther Davis, and Ada Dawson.

Those left to cherish his memory include: his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and a host of other loving family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and warmth.
