With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Joyce Deloris Rogers, 76, of Salters, SC, who passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Life Reflections
Sister Joyce Deloris Rogers was born on June 18, 1949, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. Joyce's parents were the late Thomasena Joe Oliver and Frank Henry Rogers. Joyce was raised by her grandparents, the late Rev. Preston and Eloise M. Rogers.
Joyce grew up in Salters, SC, where she became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Joyce was educated at Williamsburg Training School, Morris College, Florence Darlington Technical College, as well as Francis Marion. Joyce enlisted in the United States Army, where she later retired as a Seargent. After retiring from the Army as a Sargent, she relocated to Philadelphia, PA. Joyce worked with BellSouth before embarking on a new career with the United States Postal Service, where she retired from after serving twenty-plus years. When time would permit Joyce was an avid fisherwoman.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and one sister, Earnestine Nathan.
