Life Reflections

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

On Monday afternoon, September 23, 2024, Mother Joyce Epps, quietly slipped away on God's glory train, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Mother Joyce Epps was born March 8, 1951, to the late Willie Kinder and Maggie Frison. She was the youngest of six children and was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, (Sadie, Addie, Charlie and Joseph).

She received her education by attending the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from Cades Hebron High School in 1971. She was employed as a cook for many years at Sav-Way Food Store and Lavelle's Diner in Lake City, SC.

Joyce was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Elder Henry Epps, Jr. and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by one son, Henry Lavern Epps.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined St. Mark Holiness Church. She served on many capacities of the church.- choir and kitchen committee - or wherever she was needed. She was willing to help. After many years of traveling from church to church as first la with her husband the late Elder Henry Epps, Jr. and after his passing she joined New Millenium where she served as president of the missionary board, kitchen committee president and mother of the church.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. That smile will be remembered forever. Her willingness to serve God and others will forever be in our hearts.
