With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Joseph Gill, 93, of Salters, SC, husband of Ernestine Gill, who passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Life Reflections

Mr. Joseph Gill was born October 1, 1931 in Wake County, Raleigh, North Carolina, to the late Herbert Gill and Kcnova Dunn Gill. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

Joseph received his education at Wake High School, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Joseph was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church in Salters, South Carolina, where he was a dedicated member. He worked for Williamsburg County Solid Waste in Salters, South Carolina for 16 years and Ray Carmell Trucking in Brooklyn, New York for 18 years.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Kcnova Dunn Gill and Herbert Gill; sisters, Cathrene Gill, Willie Mae Woods and Elma Williamson; brother, Macon Gill; two sons, Lawrence Gill and Barry Gill.

Loved ones left to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Ernestine L. Gill of the home; one daughter, Monique Kissic of New York, NY; son, Mitchell Gill of Brooklyn, NY; two nieces, Cinthia Anderson of New York, NY and Doris Godsom of Springfield, MO; goddaughter, Ernestine McGhee of New Haven, CT; godson, Harry Scott, Jr. of Charleston, SC; sisters-in-law, Cecil Mae Pressley and Patricia Ann Miller both of the home; brother-in-law, Bernard Miller of Utica, NY; two aunts, Edith Mabry  and Catherine Moore both of Salters, SC; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends and family at his late residence, 29 Cyclone Drive, Salters, SC.
