John Scott, born on February 22, 1940, to James and Minnie Scott in Kingstree, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He spent his early years in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, where he graduated from Tomlinson High School of Kingstree, South Carolina. During his time in New York City, John trained on 125th Street at the Apollo Theater and competed in matches at Madison Square Garden.

In New York, John met and married the love of his life, Frances J. Johnson on October 23, 1971. Together, they created a home known for its warmth and hospitality, always welcoming friends and family with open arms and a good meal.

John's life took a meaningful turn when he began studying the Bible. This deepened his faith, and after his baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he shifted his focus from sports to sharing his beliefs with others, becoming dedicated to his ministry.

He spent most of his professional life in the jewelry industry in New York City, where he built lasting relationships and honed his craft.

John, one of fifteen children, was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minnie Scott, and his beloved wife, Frances Scott.
