John Cedric Goodman was born on July 31, 1981, in Manning, South Carolina, to Aaron Goodman and the late Patricia Dickey Goodman. John departed his earthly life on March 2, 2026 at Prisma Tuomey in Sumter, South Carolina.

John, affectionately known as Cedric, graduated with the Class of 1999 at Crestwood High School. He attended Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. He was a long time member at Asbury United Methodist Church Shiloh where he sang on the youth choir and played basketball with the church league.

Cedric leaves to cherish his loving memories: his son, Cedric Goodman of Alcolu, SC; two daughters, Turner McKenzie of Lake City, SC and Zymonnie Goodman of Florence, SC; his father, Aaron (Vivian J.) Goodman Sr.; his girl friend, Schterrica Hicks; one brother, Aaron "AJ" Goodman Jr. of Lynchburg, SC; two sisters, Crystal Goodman of Columbia, SC and Quincenia Dickey of Sumter, SC; three nieces, Damiya Knox, Caitlyn Knox and Mariah Goodman; three nephews, Brycen Goodman, Dominell Knox, Jalen Dickey; his only living grandmother, Ruth M. Goodman of Lynchburg, SC; four aunts; four uncles; four loving cousins who were more like brothers, Deshawn Smith, Dante Little, Kelvin White, and Reginald Goodman; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
