Kingstree

Life Reflections
"I fought a good fight: I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at the day and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearance."
2 Timothy 4:7-8
Ms. Joan Hamlet was born in Kingstree, South Carolina on December 25, 1956 to the late Joseph Hamlet and Mamie Ruth Evans Hamlet. She was preceded in death by five brothers; Ronald, Kelly, Kent, Keith, and Timothy. On Friday morning, May 30, 2025 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina, Joan Renee Hamlet surrendered to God's will and triumphantly died in Christ.
Renee attended Tomlinson High School in Kingstree, South Carolina, and then went off to the University of Tennessee, then later to Shaw University, where she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She attended many schools and later pursued her Doctorate from Grand Canyon University. Renee worked as a social worker and tutored many and helped others. She loved to travel, and boy did she love to shop. She would follow her sorority sisters many places. Renee loved to try different places to eat, she was what we now call a "foodie". She was an amazing, genuine, and pure hearted woman. Renee loved to read and expand her knowledge.
Renee leaves to cherish her precious memories her niece and nephew that she raised as her own, Krystal and Terrell Hamlet both of Columbia, SC; her niece, Terry ( Corey Rivers); one nephew, Kevin (Lenora) Pendergrass; seven great nieces, Kaylee Fulton, Carnesha Rivers, Tiera Rivers, Briana Rivers, Dakota Hamlet, Legacii Dozier and Taylor Pendergrass; two great nephews, Tyler Pendergrass and Zackery Woods; one sister-in-law whom she loved like her own sister, Helen Hamlet of Manning, SC; along with a host of other relatives, friends, and sorority sisters. Renee will truly be missed and is now a beautiful angel in Heaven. Get your rest, we love you always.
The family is receiving friends and family at 2088 Mallet Road, Manning, SC.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
