With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of James Edward Singletary, 65, of Salters, SC, who passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Life Reflections

Mr. James Edward Singletary entered eternal rest on May 11, 2025.  He was born on June 19, 1959, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Singletary Jr. and the late Annie Ernestine Bradley Singletary.

James Edward received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County.  He graduated high school with honors and continued to take up his mechanical trade in fixing cars.  That was one of his favorite pastimes.

James Edward was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Catherine Tisdale Singletary on November 8, 1978.  To this union 5 sons were born.

James Edward was a hardworking man who loved spending time with his family.  He was very low-key and easy to get along with.  He retired from the Nan Ya Plastics Corporation where he worked for many years.

He was preceded to the grave by: one son, Raleijah Ratron Singletary and two sisters, Hazel Mae Graham and Coretha McBride.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: four sons, James Whitney Lanathan Singletary of  Columbia SC, Antonio Terrell (Jessica) Singletary of Charleston, SC, Tyjah Nadane Singletary and Jarae Jontice Singletary both of Salters, SC;  four sisters, Lorraine Singletary of Kingstree, SC, Alice Singletary  Coleman and Sebrena (Yule) Graham both of Columbia, SC, and Wendy (Wilbur) Williams of Salters, SC; two brothers, Gerald Jerome ( Katherine)  Singletary of Bon Aire, GA and Stevie Robert Singletary of Columbia, SC; five brothers-in-laws; two sisters-in-law; four aunts; numerous grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
