James P.
Rembert
Sep 25, 1934 — May 2, 2026
Pineville
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of James P. Rembert, 91, of Pineville, SC, husband of Beatrice Rembert, who passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Life Reflections
James P. Rembert, Sr., 91, of Pineville, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Born September 25, 1934, he was the first of nine children born to the late Norman Rembert and Lela Wilson Rembert.
James accepted Christ and was baptized at Saint Peters Baptist Church. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Russellville High School.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Beatrice Brown for over 60 years. From this union came four children: Shirley, Joyce, James Anthony, and Michael.
James worked briefly in Alabama before returning home to Pineville to pursue farming, his true passion. He became one of South Carolina's most recognized Black farmers, raising soybeans, cotton, corn, watermelon, and livestock. He was known for his strong work ethic, devotion to family, and the joy he found teaching his grandchildren—often riding the tractor beside him.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Shirley Rembert; brothers, Norman Rembert, Jr., John Earl Rembert, Dan Burnett Rembert, and Jerome Rembert, Sr.; and sisters, Lelia M. Hartgrove and Evelyn Rembert Graham.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his loving wife, Beatrice Rembert; a daughter, Joyce Rembert of Seattle, WA; two sons, James Anthony Rembert and Michael Rembert (Juanita) of Pineville, SC; four grandchildren, Jonathon, J'vonte, Shaunessy, and Lelise (Lelaya); two brothers, Deacon Theodore (Eva) Rembert and Archie Nathaniel (Joann) Rembert; three sisters-in-law, Pearl Rembert, Mary Rembert, and Edna (Donald) Williams of Charleston, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of St. Stephen, SC. 843-354-2292.
