James Allen
Felder
Mar 15, 1935 — May 9, 2024
Georgetown
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of James Allen Felder, 89, of Georgetown, SC, formerly of Lane, SC, who passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Life Reflections
James Allen Felder was born on March 15th, 1935, in Lane, South Carolina, the third of nine children to Mr. Rufus and Mrs. Lucille Felder. He transitioned to his heavenly home on May 9th, 2024.
James received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg County, South Carolina.
James later relocated to Brooklyn, New York. There, he met the love of his life, "Sadie," and they were united in Holy Matrimony. They had one son, Earl Matthews, who preceded them in death. In 1968, James and Sadie moved their family to Georgetown, South Carolina.
James worked at the Georgetown Steel Mill until an injury forced his early retirement. He was a collector of gadgets and loved to fish. Known for his dapper appearance, James was a devoted member of Bethel A.M.E. Church; he enjoyed dressing and driving down to church on Sunday mornings until his health declined.
James leaves behind to cherish his memories: five grandchildren, Trevor (LaNovia) Izzard, Nicholas (Lasondra) Wilson, Aneesha (York) Cooper, Shakemia McFadden, and Orlando (Carla) Matthews; one sister, Jessie Felder of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Jimmy Felder of Brooklyn, NY; a beloved daughter-in law, Beulah Matthews; two sisters-in-law, Diane Williams, and Latricia Cunningham; two brothers-in-law, Richard Matthews and Deacon Charles Matthews. James's legacy extends to six great-grandchildren; a close special nephew, Harry Logan Dozier; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, great-great grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
We will miss you dearly, Uncle Buck.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
