Mr. James Lorrie Cunningham, 69, of Kingstree, South Carolina, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.

James was born October 12, 1956 in Kingstree, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Bennie and Louise Cunningham.

James was a dedicated janitor at Kingstree Senior High School, where he faithfully served for many years.

James enjoyed watching movies, including boxing, professional wrestling and kung fu theater. He also loved dancing and most of all spending quality time and having a good time with his family.

James leaves to cherish his memories: his loving longtime companion, Jacqueline Thomas of Kingstree, South Carolina; two daughters, Michelle (Shieed) Jones of Teaneck, New Jersey, and Tyesha Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; two sons, Andrew Foreman and Xavier Thomas both of Kingstree, South Carolina.

He also leaves: five sisters, Dorothy Wright and Wilhelmina Green both of Queens, New York, Evangelist Linda (George) Turner of Charlotte, North Carolina, Patricia McGill of Riverdale, South Carolina and Nancy Blanks of Columbus, Georgia; one brother, Marvin Cunningham of Andrews, South Carolina; two aunts, Mamie (Harold) Cunningham of Sumter, South Carolina and Francena White of Andrews, South Carolina; along with seven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

James was preceded in death by: his father, Bennie Cunningham, Sr.; his mother, Louise Cunningham; four brothers, George Cunningham, Bennie Cunningham, Jr., Al Cunningham and Andrew Cunningham.

The family is receiving friends and family at 119 Harrell St., Kingstree, SC.
