Life Reflections
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." ~ Matthew 5:4
Jamariqoui Sher'Maine Malik Barr, son of Tanysha Wilson and the late Damien Edward Barr, was born on December 16, 1997, in Florence, South Carolina. Our precious "Jamariqoui Sher'Maine Malik Barr" was chosen by God to enter the Kingdom of Heaven on April 1, 2026. Though our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing Malik is basking in the light of God in Heaven. He has completed his earthly journey and now lives in glory.
"Malik" as he was affectionally called attended the public schools of Williamsburg County and was a 2016 graduate of C.E. Murray High School, Greeleyville, SC. He was a star athlete receiving numerous accolades, including the 2015 HSSR-SCHSL Statewide All-State Offense Award, 2015 Sumter Touchdown Club Lineman of the Year, and was apart of the 2015 1A Football Championship Team from C.E. Murray High School. He was also selected to play in the 2015 Touchstone Energy Bowl North vs. South All-Star Game, a premier high school all-star game that features top senior players from across the state of South Carolina. He received a scholarship to play in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Malik was employed at Light Pole Tech. He loved to joke, eat, travel and was an all around people's person. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers Football fan. His love for the game and his vibrant personality will always be remembered. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thurman Wilson, Sr. and his uncle, Torrie LaMar Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his memories forever: his only son, Jamariqoui Barr, Jr. of Mobile, AL; his mother, Tanysha Wilson of Andrews, SC; one sister, Jasmine Barr of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Damien Barr (Gabbie) of Kingstree, SC; his grandparents, Geneva Wilson of Andrews, SC and Willie James and Neretha Barr of Kingstree, SC; four uncles, Dawn Wilson of Winston-Salem, NC, Thurmon Wilson of Andrews, SC, Jermaine Barr and Sherman both of Kingstree, SC; two aunts, Dwan Wilson of Andrews, SC and Towanda Barr of Columbia, SC; two nieces, Naveah Barr and Dajaya Barr both of Kingstree, SC; two nephews, Bryston Gadson of Atlanta, GA and Damien Barr, Jr. of Kingstree, SC; his companion, Shariek Briggs; a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
