Jamal Akeem Barr "Boody" was born July 17, 1993, in Florence, South Carolina to Willie and Daisy Barr. He departed his earthly life on Tuesday, July 13, 2026 in Florence County.

Jamal was affectionately known as "Boody" to his family and friends. Jamal was educated in the public school system in Williamsburg County, where he attended Battery Park and graduated from Hemingway High School, with the class of 2012. "Boody" loved playing sports, especially basketball, and he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Jamal was employed at Tupperware Warehouses and Maxwood Furniture in Johnsonville, SC until his passing.

In his sudden passing Jamal, leaves fond memories to be cherished by: his loving parents, Willie and Daisy Barr of Hemingway, SC; one sister, Ashley Bryant of Kingstree, SC; one brother, Joshua Barr of Lake City, SC; two nieces, Kaleila Hicks and Jashaunna Cornell; two nephews, Bryson Bryant and Gideon Barr; eight aunts; five uncles; three great aunts; one great uncle; along with a hosts of cousins, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends and family at 1508 Old Georgetown Road, Hemingway, SC.
