Hoyt
Brown
May 12, 1950 — Dec 15, 2025
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Hoyt Brown, 75, of Florence, SC, who passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
Psalm 147:3
Hoyt Brown, a father, craftsman, and a man of many trades, passed away leaving memories that linger quietly in the hearts of those who knew him. He was born in Clarendon County, South Carolina to the late Ollie and Mary Brown. Hoyt received his education in Clarendon and Florence County School District.
Throughout his life, Hoyt worked as a furniture maker, groundsman, as well as a farmer. He labored with his hands, creating, seeding, and providing in his own way. Though life circumstances sometimes kept him distant, he was a part of the tapestry of his children's lives, and his presence is remembered in the moments shared.
Hoyt was a member of Gordon Tabernacle Holiness Church and touched the world around him in both subtle and lasting ways. His life reminds us that love and memory take many forms, and that each story is made richer by the lives we interact with.
Hoyt leaves to cherish his lasting memories: his five daughters, Thomasina (Lenny) Woodbury of Pamplico, SC, Nikki Robinson of Florence, SC, Denise Brown of Pamplico, SC, Lashawn Harrison of Manning, SC and Onesty Nero of Lake City, SC; his five sons, Nathan Grant of Hudson, FL, Horit Brown Jr. of Lake City, SC, Clinton Brown of Coward, SC, James Brown of Coward, SC and Matthew Brown of Columbia, SC; his two sisters, Nellie Mae Woodberry and Leatha Hanna both of Lake City, SC; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Lake City, SC. 843-354-2292.
