Columbia
With deepest sorrow we at Henryhand Funeral Home regret to announce the passing of Howard Cooper, 70, of Columbia, SC, formerly of Kingstree, SC, who passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2026.
Life Reflections
Howard Stevenson Cooper, affectionately known as "Bo Peep", was born on July 3, 1956 in Kingstree, South Carolina to the late Anderson and Lillie Maude Cooper. He entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2026.
Howard was a proud graduate of Kingstree Senior High School. He spent many years working as a brick mason and later as a truck driver. He took great pride in working with his hands and doing whatever he could to provide for and support the people he loved.
Howard was a family-oriented man and a true people's person. He enjoyed being surrounded by others and had a special gift for making people laugh. He will forever be remembered for his outgoing personality, jokes, kindness and warm spirit. His presence brought joy and laughter to those around him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
In his spare time, Howard enjoyed cooking and working on cars. He was also a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses and his faith was an important and meaningful part of his life.
Howard was preceded in death by: three sisters, Louise Smith, Joan Wallace and Azarna Sanders; two brothers, Virdell Cooper and Earl Cooper; and a grandson, Arthur Tremaine Bradley.
Howard leaves to cherish his precious memory: his four children, Sharonda Fluitt and Kashan McGill both of Columbia, SC, Shalondia (Arthur) Bradley of Charlotte, NC and Bryeshia Cooper of Florence, SC. He is also survived by: his sisters, Marie Myers, Martha Burgess, Linda Cooper and Juliet (Albert) Ongugo all of Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren nieces nephews, loving relatives, countless friend and best friend, David Bettard.
Though Howard is no longer with us, the love he shared, the laughter he brought and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure and he will be deeply missed.
All arrangements and professional services have been entrusted to Henryhand Funeral Home of Kingstree, SC. 843-354-2292.
