On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the Lord saw fit in his infinite wisdom to call Mrs. Hildonia W. Cooper, affectionately known to family and friends as "Hilda or Hilly'', from labor to reward. She was surrounded by her family at home.

Mrs. Hildonia W. Cooper, daughter of the late Willie Cunningham and Louise Barr was born on November 22, 1947 in Cades, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Walter Leroy Cooper; parents, Willie Cunningham and Louise Barr; stepmother, Lonnie Cunningham; stepfather, Orie Barr; siblings, Sonny Cunningham and Geneva Cunningham; and stepsons, Danzell Cooper and Jacob Cooper.

Hildonia graduated from Cades High School in 1966. After graduating high school she entered the Job Corps and traveled many places and learned a variety of skills and knowledge. Upon returning home she became an employee at Baxter Travenol where she worked faithfully for 24 years until her retirement in 1995.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and became a faithful member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, where she was involved in many church organizations and held many positions like class leader, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and assistant superintendent, just to name a few. Hildonia carried her love for Jesus into everyplace she went and every life she touched.

Loved ones left to cherish her memories are: three children, Harrel Williams (Debra) of Charlotte, NC, Melody Cooper and Emmanuel Cooper both of the home; two grandchildren, Carlton Bartley of Alamogordo, NM and Xavier Cooper of Kingstree, SC; three brothers, Willie Cunningham Jr., of Irvine, CA, Lawrence Cunningham of Port Saint Lucie, FL and Ronnie Cunningham of Tampa, FL; one stepbrother, Leroy Benjamin of Hollywood FL; two sisters, Linda Cunningham of Hollywood, FL and Debra Cunningham of Miramar, FL; two step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; a beloved daughter-in-law, Emily Chandler Cooper; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends and family at 678 Eastland Ave, Kingstree, SC.
