Remembering the Life of Helen Myers Hamilton

Helen Myers Hamilton was born on August 16, 1959, to Sadie Myers and the late Samuel Myers in Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her son, the late Kenneth Myers. Helen attended public schools in South Santee and McClellanville, SC. She ended her formal education at Lincoln High School. Helen loved the Lord and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age.

Her commitment to service was unwavering. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to the hospitality industry. She worked as head Housekeeper at Carolinian Inn and the Georgetonian motels in Georgetown and Litchfield Beach Golf Resort in Litchfield, SC.

Helen had a heart of gold, and she never met a stranger. Her laughter was infectious. She had the unique ability to connect with others and left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed her path. She loved cooking and offered her home and meals to countless families.

Helen's greatest accomplishment and joys came from her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-great grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she shared a unique bond with each of them.

Helen was called to her eternal home on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by: her mother, Sadie Myers; sister, Evangelist Paulette Myers; brother, Samuel Myers Jr (Althea); devoted children, Latresia Smith-Graham (Jimmy), Derus Hamilton and Whyanna Hamilton; bonus daughter, Laneki Smith (Marc); cherished grandchildren, Jamese Graham, Miracle Graham, Dominic Grahm, Ty'onna Hamilton, Edmund Holmes, Jr., Paris Hamilton, Alani Hamilton and Anitye Moultrie; great grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Cairo Williams and Princess Williams; aunts, Carolyn Weathers (Ronald), Patsy Coleman, Willie Mae Singleton, and Henrietta Wigfall (Arthur); uncles, Walter Myers, Johnny Keith and Bill Myers.

Helen's life was the testament of her greatest values and attributes. She always preached that love and kindness will take you places that money can't.

As we bid farewell to Helen Myers, let us remember her profound lessons of kindness and selflessness. Carrying forward her spirit of love and service, we honor her memory and strive to make the world a better place, just as she did throughout her remarkable life.

The family will be receiving friends and family at 331 Yadkin Ave, Georgetown, SC.
